Jane Pilskalnietis is an Outdoor Play Specialist who believes that children learn best when given the opportunity to play freely with their whole body and mind. A self professed ‘play geek’ she is passionate about creating opportunities for rich and diverse play and coaching others to support children’s learning and development through play.
Jane is trained in playwork and has a background in landscape architecture and environmental education. She holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph.
Jane has run over 100 POP-UP Adventure Playgrounds engaging over 17,000 children throughout the GTHA and trained over 400 people in the playwork approach. She is currently working with early childhood educators to create nature-based outdoor play and learning opportunities for families and children.
In her other job as a parent, Jane enjoys spending time wandering around her Mississauga neighbourhood with her young daughter, exploring, discovering, and connecting with the natural world.
