Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How are my child's goals decided?
A: Carla Ward, the owner of ELF, completes an assessment on your child to determine his or her learning style and academic needs. She will then discuss with you what she feels the goals are and how we are going to implement them. Carla will ensure that your child's tutor is well prepared to guide your child so that his or her goals can be met.
Q: What curriculum do you follow?
A: Each child learns differently, therefore we use a variety of programs to ensure that your child understands the basic skills needed to be successful in school.
Q: How often should my child have a tutoring session?
A: Most students have one session a week. However we see higher results and understanding in children whose sessions are twice a week or more.
Q: How long are the tutoring sessions?
A: Each session is 50 minutes long with 10 minutes at the end to allow your tutor to communicate with you what has happened in the session and any changes to your child's goals.
